Sometimes you don't even need to be in a museum to find art. Have you seen this sculpture? Perhaps you can't tell from this picture, but the sculpture is quite large. I think it's very beautiful, and its great size even makes it a little scary to me. By the way, the figures in the sculpture are all characters from the book Alice in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll. It's a book I've read quite a few times, and that makes this sculpture even more fun for me to look at. The book was originally written for the amusement of three young girls, the Liddell sisters, one of whom was named Alice. Lewis Carroll took this picture of Alice Liddell in 1859, when Alice was 7 years old. |
