There's one last thing that I thought about as I walked through the park.

When we were at the museum, some of you sat down on one the platforms on which sculptures were displayed. One of the grown-ups asked you not to sit there, and I made a joke and said, "I know you guys are handsome, but you're not works of art!" I heard someone saying to herself, "I am a work of art." But there's a big difference between a work of art and a person, even if that person is creative, and smart, and cool, and talented. A work of art just sits there while you look at it. It can't think, it can't laugh, it can't cry, and it certainly can't make another piece of art. That's what human beings do. And so, when I say that you're not a work of art, I only mean that you are a human being, and that, when I admire you, it's not just because I like the way you look.
